Train stations will have BRL 250 million
To meet international requirements, six train stations — São Cristóvão, Engenho de Dentro, Ricardo de Albuquerque, Deodoro, Vila Militar and Magalhães Bastos — will be completely renovated, mainly for the implementation of elevators and expansion of platforms.
In Deodoro, the work will be even more comprehensive, with the construction of a footbridge to integrate the train with the BRT Transbrasil terminal. For the six stations, the cost of the renovation will be R$ 250 million.
But Vila Militar promises to be full only during the Games, as currently, there are only 860 users per day, against 28,000 in São Cristóvão, 12,000 in Engenho de Dentro and 8,300 in Deodoro.
